Rules

1. Registration: Registration is open to anyone wishing to partake in the event over the age of 18.  If you are under the age of 18, you can participate with or with the expressed consent of your parent or guardian.  Registration costs $20 and can be performed by clicking the registration link above.  All registrants must sign a waiver form at the captains meeting.
2. Format:  This is a Catch Photo Release tournament.  Participants will be assigned a unique tournament token at the captains meeting.  This token must be clearly present in all photographs submitted.  
3. Photographs submission:  Fish must be photographed on a designated measuring device to be announced at the captains meeting.  All fish must be shown clearly in the photos with their lips closed and placed at the zero marker on the ruler.  Photographs must be made directly above the fish and not at an angle.  The fish must be photographed as it naturally lays on the measuring device, no pinched tails.  Accepted memory cards will be SD, SDHC, or Micro SD.  If your camera does not use one of the listed memory cards, be sure to bring the USB Cable for your camera to the weigh in.  Your memory card must be cleared of all other photographs before the start of the tournament.  The first photograph on your memory card shall be a photograph of you holding the tournament token before beginning the tournament.  Use of cell phones as a camera is discouraged however in the event that no other camera is available for use, you must notify the tournament director at the captains meeting and arrangements will be made. Participants are encouraged to take multiple photographs of each fish to ensure proper documentation. Though not required, it is advised that participants take a photo of the sky after documenting each fish.  This allows the judging panel to easily distinguish between fish.  
4. Length-In/Prizes:  Length in will begin at 4:30pm at the location designated at the captains meeting.  All participants must be in line to submit their photos by 5:00pm.  Trophies and prizes will be given to the top three participants.  Participants will be able to submit their top two shad, and top cat fish.  Any species of shad, and any species of catfish will be permitted.  All fish must be caught using hook and line and all fish must be caught through their mouth, no snagging.  There are no bait/lure restrictions for this tournament.   Additional prizes/tournament categories may be announced at the captains meeting.  
5. SAFETY: Safe boating/kayaking/fishing must be observed at all times.  Participants must follow all local and USCG regulations during the course of this tournament.  If using a VHF radio, please remember to use channel 16 for any emergency notifications to the USCG.
6. CAPTAINS MEETING: All participants must attend the Captains Meeting's; special considerations may be made in certain circumstances. The meeting will be held at 7:00am at the east parking lot of Ancarrows Landing boat launch on the morning of the tournament. 
7. STARTING TIME: First lines in the water at 8:00am on April 12th, 2014. NO EXCEPTIONS. 
8. COMMUNICATIONS: The use of mobile communication is allowed. If using a VHF radio, please use channel 72. 
9. SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation. Intoxication will be cause for immediate disqualification. No alcoholic beverages or the use of illegal drugs is allowed during the tournament.  This rule extends through and includes signing of the check-in form at length in. The illegal use of drugs, participation in any criminal activities, or other conduct reflecting unfavorably upon efforts to promote safety, sportsmanship, fair competition and compliance with tournament rules and the law are grounds for disqualification and/or rejection of any applicant from participation. This will also entail the return of any prizes awarded.
10. PERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Anywhere!!!!!  However, participants must take part in the captains meeting and be in line no later than 5:00 at the length in.
